In the early hours of yesterday, the statue of Captain James Cook in Sydney’s Hyde Park was vandalised, allegedly by two women.

Here’s how the “Independent Always” — in other words, preening latte left — Sydney Morning Herald reported it:

Here’s how the out and out left Guardian Australian covered it:

In contrast, this is what the ABC was saying about the episode at around the same time as the SMH report appeared — and well after The Guardian:

No mention of any Greens. Here’s how their report ran Sunday evening:

It hadn’t changed, even it had already been widely reported elsewhere that a Greens Party political staffer was invovled.

Indeed, this is the first mention of Ms Shi’s involvement Flat White found on the ABC News website, tucked away in a separate story — this morning:

It’s pretty clear. The ABC doesn’t even pretend to be a credible, independent news-gathering organisation any more.

(And we won’t explore the full implications of the Greens “out of work hours” line just now, but you could drive a Tesla truck through it.)
