Criticising PETA—the extremist animal liberation organisation—is kind of like shooting fish in a barrel. Because they routinely come up with suggestions so ridiculous that they make most people as mad as a hornet. Just consider their latest offering of vegan ‘Newspeak’ in which they equate speciesism with racism. No, seriously! In a tweet titled “Bringing Home the Bagel”, the group said:

Why do people like this want to suck the joy out of everything? This is precisely why vegans need to eat more bacon. Because if they did they wouldn’t be led on such a wild goose chase. To make matters even worse, they then proceeded to patronisingly offer a language guide which since has broken the internet:

Well, I’ll be a monkey’s uncle – I always thought “scone” was pronounced “sc-on”, but there you go! That sure put a cat amongst the pigeon’s, didn’t it? (by the way, even though that’s an example of inter-species violence, that particular idiom is acceptable since most cats are black and pigeons have a historic ‘white privilege’) In response, though, the tweet of the week has to go to Derek Paul who tweeted:

Exactly. You don’t have to be religious to believe that we’re living in the last days. But this latest suggestion by PETA is a sign that we haven’t got long to go. Because if you don’t smell a rat, then you’re like a lamb being led to the slaughter.
