There’s yet more evidence out today from the Bureau of Statistics that instead of #IstandwithDan, the hashtag should read #IstandinaqueueatCentrelinkthankstoDan.
The latest Weekly Payroll Jobs and Wages in Australia, compiled from Taxation Office payroll numbers, shows that the number of payroll jobs in Victoria fell by 2.1 per cent over the month to September 5, compared to a mere 0.2 per cent decline for the rest of the nation.
The ABS goes on to tell us that since the week ending 14 March, 2020 — the week before the lockdown diktats came — payroll jobs in Victoria have decreased by 8.3 per cent.
The Bureau includes a handy table and graph in their statement that makes the situation crystal clear:
#ThankyouDan. Love your work.
