One Nation Leader Senator Pauline Hanson exclusively told The Spectator Australia today:
Apparently, you can wear the symbols of Islamic terror in Parliament and escape criticism or censure.
You can threaten to burn Parliament down and escape censure.
But you can’t wear a simple burqa and escape censure.
I never really expected anything else from these progressive weaklings.
My intention was never to offend, but simply to expose their hypocrisy.
And – oh my – was I successful.
I was never going to win that vote in Parliament, but it never mattered.
I’ve won the people.
And apparently you can’t even show a movie trailer in Parliament lampooning these ‘progressives’ because that will ‘offend’ them too.
This isn’t my first rodeo.
Idiot progressives will arbitrarily and selectively take offence at anything, hiding behind their contrived victimhood so they are never forced to debate these issues in a truly open contest of ideas.
They can’t win a debate like that on any issue precious to them, so they will always try to shut it down first.
What is sad is that the very seat of Australian democracy, whose officials should be utterly dedicated to upholding important democratic principles like free speech, do not understand it.
People always fear what they don’t understand, and Parliament has shown it in spades by cancelling our screening at the last minute.
