Congratulations to Gladys and the hair gel lads for their result yesterday. And for Scot, here’s a history lesson.
On Saturday October 3, 1992 the Victorian Liberals swept to power in the state election with a gain of 19 seats.
At the next federal election, on Saturday March 13, 1993, the Liberal Party lost four seats in Victoria alone – two thirds of the six they lost nationally and half of the Coalition’s overall loss that led to their defeat.
And the lesson is?
Punters vote differently at state and federal elections. Sorry mate.
