What a strange article!
The reality was that in the 8os gayness seemed to sometimes feel like all people talked about – . Half the pop stars were gay or pretending to be then there was the fact that AIDS was one of the decades biggest news stories.
Bronski Beat, Boy George, Marilyn. Steve Strange, Marc Almond, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, the rumours about George Michael, Dead or Alive, Hi Energy music, then there were the refugees from the 70s Elton John, Tom Robinson, Village People, David Bowie (even tho he wasn’t) ,, how much more gay could the 80s have been?
