Damn you, politicians. Damn you for what you have done to this country you were supposed to serve and govern well. Damn you for your chicanery, your incompetence and your ignorance. Damn you for every frightful thing we see around us in what was once a peaceful and ordered land. Damn you for the savagery and violence on our streets, damn you for taking away our safety, even in our own homes. Once there were a few decent politicians, public-spirited with ideals of service and patriotism. Are there any now? Or are you all chippy graduates of university politics clubs, rabble-rousers, hangers-on to trade unionists and self-servers, drones who have never done proper work and are ambitious only for your own advancement? Damn you all for wrecking what was, until the post-1970s politicians got their hands on it, perhaps the happiest and most welcoming nation on earth.
Welcoming, yes, but damn you, you welcomed the wrong people. You opened our gates to savages wielding machetes and hordes of misfits who, in return for the welcome given them, barricaded themselves in physical and mental ghettoes from which they could preach hatred against the very people who were offering them a better life than the medieval obsessions with punishment and death afforded them back where they came from. Damn every one of you politicians who made that happen.
Damn you too for your insane credulity in bowing down before climate fantasies, for which there is never any empirical evidence, only the ‘modelling’ emitted by dodgily programmed computers. Where once we were well-off, with cheap energy and enormous unrealised resources, you have made us poor and our principal enemy richer. You have despoiled our wide green vistas by blighting them with platoons of sinister sci-fi towers marching like space invaders across a conquered land.
Damn you for turning our police, trusted, impartial and unarmed in an earlier Australia, into the enemy of the people and an instrument of state surveillance, bristling with weapons and armoured as though for war.
Damn you for conniving at the corruption of truth, for encouraging modish denials that objective truth exists, so that things you yourselves know are not true can be used as an arsenal against reason and historical fact. Then in case anyone might denounce these lies too convincingly, you politicians have invented ‘misinformation’ to discredit truths you find inconvenient. Damn you for your duplicity.
The abolition of truth means that even our intimate personal existence can be redefined through the fraudulence of ‘gender politics’. You’d think only the truly gullible would fall for this, and yet it is daily affirmed by politicians who affect to believe that a man can be a woman, or vice versa, because he ‘feels’ he is one. How can a man know what it feels like to be a woman? What he ‘knows’ is what he imagines a woman feels like. Yet to say this, thanks largely to you politicians, is dismissed as bigotry.
And yes, those mendacious government commissions, touting for examples of ‘discrimination’ to justify their expensive existence. You politicians invented them all, even that hilarious one where the ‘commissioner’ into ‘racial discrimination’ has been selected from one of the most notoriously discriminatory nations in the world – India with its entrenched caste system. Aborigines? According to you, they are oppressed ‘nations’ of a once-flowering ‘civilisation’ all destroyed by the ‘settler-colonialists’. Damn you for redepicting our national history in terms of American racial politics. We had no slaves here, no KKK. But like Voltaire’s God who, if not existing would have had to be invented, you have invented an ongoing struggle here in order to justify your insane desire to see a nation divided in the manner of apartheid, with Anglo-descended Australians condemned to inferiority, their place names eclipsed, their achievements denied, their history sneered at. All your fault, damn you.
But it is our fault too. For too long we trusted you. We assumed that everyone in authority had the good of our country at heart. Just like the elderly few who still trust the ABC, because, being ‘official’, it was ‘accurate’ and impartial fifty years ago, we could not bring ourselves to believe that apart from a few stock-character communists on the wharves and in the railways, anyone in our community – and it was still a community then, not a series of ideological Babels each claiming its ‘rights’ at the expense of others – would wish for its destruction. We know better now, but damn you, politicians, it’s too late.
