Despite what the cynics and activists might say, Australia is a nation worth celebrating – and January 26 is the best day to celebrate it.

Efforts to problematise Australia Day began early this year.

First, we saw the High Commissioner cancel Australia Day celebrations in London. Then 80 councils around the country scrapped their Australia Day citizenship ceremonies.
