The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra kicks off its 2023 season with a sumptuously ambitious gala concert on the evening of Friday 24 and then repeated on Saturday 25 at 2pm, both in Hamer Hall. The programme is conducted by the chief conductor Jaime Martín with the soloist-in-residence Siobhan Stagg and there will also be a new work by the resident composer Mary Finsterer which is a meditative homage to the polyphonic music of the Renaissance.
