Will the West survive the Marxist-Islamist alliance?

Is the West losing the new Cold War?

‘The enemy of my enemy is my friend.’

– Kautilya, in Arthashastra, a Sanskrit treatise on statecraft, 4th Century BC

Extensive bombing against the Iranian regime began February 28, 2026. This time, the goal is regime change, and it’s not restricted to bunker busters dropped on nuclear facilities. However, just as critical as this ‘hot war’ is to acknowledge and declare a new Cold War that has been ongoing for decades.

The Neo-Marxists

In the late 1920s, Marxist scholars came together at Goethe University in Frankfurt at the Institute for Social Research (the Frankfurt School) to create a new paradigm that sought to explain history and secure societal changes.

These neo-Marxists (aka Cultural Marxists) opined that:

  1. An uncontrolled society always divides its people between the powerful and the weak. For cultural Marxists, the division is not limited to economic power. Genders, races, religions, and ethnicities all have divisions by way of the oppressors and the oppressed.
  2. The whole of human history must be seen as a struggle between unequal parties. Every unequal outcome is caused by oppression. Thus, neo-Marxists love affirmative action and quotas, even if they discriminate against minorities like Jews and Asians that do better than average.
  3. Like the armed communists of old, they will need to use any means (lies, funding, violence, etc.) to achieve their ends.

Over the 1960s and 1970s, the neo-Marxists became Humanities academics all over Europe and the US (the Long March through the institutions). They spread the ideas of Cultural Marxism first on campuses, and then, as the young they taught became older – in the media, the arts, literature, the business world, and eventually, politics. Even some of the largest AI software assumes right-leaning publications to be shills, and legacy media to be reliable.

The Islamists

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines Islamism as the faith, doctrine, or cause of Islam, and a reform movement advocating the reordering of government and society in accordance with laws prescribed by Islam.

The Middle East Forum (MEF) makes a strong distinction between Islam (‘a 1,400-year faith’) and Islamism (aka political Islam), and says that ‘radical Islam is the problem, moderate Islam is the solution’.

Further, MEF says [emphasis mine]:

Islamists ultimately seek hegemonic control via a worldwide caliphate that applies strict Islamic law in full. Terrorism is one method to advance this project. Indeed, the activities of lawful Islamists will arguably prove a more effective tactic in the long term.

Non-violent extremists offer a worldview in which violence against non-Muslims is ultimately justified. Islamists provide young Muslims with the theological and political justifications for terrorism.

The Alliance

Why on earth would militantly atheistic neo-Marxists join hands with theological extremists? It’s happening though – leftists turning a blind eye when Persians revolt against an Islamist regime, when gays are thrown off buildings, when honour killings are carried out, when cries for democracy are met with bullets.

Islamism revived with Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini’s rise to power in 1979. Leftists and Maoists helped him overthrow the Shah of Iran.

But why? The enemy of my enemy…

Yet, the historical lesson from the ‘Deadly Fatwa: Iran’s 1988 Prison Massacre’ refer 1.4 [emphasis mine], is this:

During the 1979 revolution, the common goal of overthrowing the Shah united these movements, with each hoping that its ideology would prevail in post-revolutionary Iran. Most accepted that Khomeini was mobilising the masses and was vital to the revolution’s success. However, in the early days of the Islamic Republic’s campaign against leftist organisations, these smaller groups bore the brunt of the clerics’ attacks. The regime arrested and executed party leaders, decimating their organisational structures well before the 1988 massacre.

Khomeini matched Hitler deed for deed, but we hardly hear of it. Tens of thousands of Muslims were also executed. Their crime? Not pure enough in Islam, outright communists, or political prisoners of any kind. The Supreme Leader issued a fatwa, and that was it – written law, morality, basic humanity – were all ignored – the families were never told, the bodies never discovered, public trials never held.

And yet, the neo-Marxists in academe, media, and politics continue to facilitate the spread of political Islam.

I had interviewed Daniel Pipes (DP), the founder of MEF, in 2018 when the word Islamism was yet to become ubiquitous. Here’s one pertinent snippet (note that the US uses liberal to mean leftist):

VK: Do Islamists fund major political parties in the West? What is the impact of such actions?

DP: 90 per cent of Islamist donations go to [US] Democratic candidates. Obviously, the goal of these donations is to make Islamism acceptable. The liberal-left being more sympathetic to this goal, it receives the bulk of the donations. And it’s worked. Rare are the liberal-left voices anymore that stand up to Islamism.

More recently, on August 14, 2025, A.J. Caschetta, in a special report for IPT News, reported:

In the span of a few years, American academics have escalated their support for the Palestinian ‘resistance’ from rhetorical to material.

For decades, academics have fostered friendly territory for radical groups and fertile ground for anti-Israel propagandists, but few have endorsed terrorism. It’s safer to massage the language, twist a metaphor or two, and figure out a way to excuse violence without actually endorsing it.

[But] October 7 triggered something in many academics who suddenly no longer felt constrained. Rather than stopping just short of applauding terrorism against Israel, they adopted Hamas’ slogans and defended its attacks. Today, colleges and universities have effectively taken the place of the Palestinian terrorist organisations as the primary disseminators of anti-Israel propaganda to Americans. Middle East Studies departments and programs in particular have transformed academia into the vanguard of anti-Zionism.

Islamism is everywhere now: absurd phrases like Islamophobia to stifle speech, encouraging non-Muslim women to wear a hijab, no-go zones in Europe where police fear to tread, five elite US university campuses in Qatar, Islamist-funded chairs at Western universities, a large voting bloc in the UN, uncontrolled immigration into the West, Islamists winning political office … the trend is ominous.

The Gaza Hallucination

One picture-perfect progeny of this unnatural alliance is the Gaza Hallucination, a direct result of the neo-Marxist professoriate’s activism.

Leftists (especially students in large numbers) and Islamists naturally gravitate toward it. Within days of October 7, the day of genocidal killings, rapes, and brutalities visited even on children, protests sprang up all over the West, starting with campuses and spilling onto the streets. But the rallies were against the victims! The power of the alliance was on full display. Even Christians, Jews, and Libertarians are susceptible to this mass hypnosis.

The word ‘Zionist!’ is used like it means an actual Nazi. When asked, ‘If multi-faith, peaceful Mauritius in East Africa provided a sanctuary to Christians being persecuted or slaughtered in West Africa, would that be a good thing?’ They answer with a protracted silence. Of course it would be. There are a dozen Christian-majority countries, a handful of Buddhist-majority ones, and 50 Muslim-majority sovereign nations on the planet. Can’t the Jews even have one? One that’s a sanctuary state for Jews yet a secular democracy where Arabs even hold political power in the Knesset? Where 25 per cent of the population isn’t of Jewish faith? Meanwhile, the percentage of the population that’s Muslim in Morocco is 100 per cent, in Afghanistan 99.7 per cent, in Somalia 99.7 per cent, in Iran and Tunisia 99.5 per cent…

Freedom of religion for me, but not for thee.

Where We are Headed

Today, the alliance’s common enemy is Us – crusaders for Western Civilisation’s way of life and values: rule of law; freedom of speech and faith; acceptance of biological realities; and an excellence in art and commerce, prosperity, and uneven wealth creation that raises the minimum markedly, all delivered by free markets. This was achieved by permanent constraints on government power – a Magna Carta, a habeas corpus, a Bill of Rights.

And that’s what the neo-Marxists wish to destroy so that their fascist expert-rule can create a new world order of elite governance of pretend democracies, open borders, a secular Gaia God, the grand equality of mass impoverishment – a genderless world of confused pronouns. It is a world where subservient masses depend on a Universal Basic Income. A censorious world where crony experts dictate what food we eat and when, what public transport we take, what vaccines we ingest, and what exercise we do. Above all, it is a world gagged with fear of persecution, prosecution, and punishment for mere nonincendiary speech – a credit score struck down, a fine, or a stint in jail awaits.

That’s 1984 by the year 2044. In short, give it another 18 years. Or 50 at best. Like Alice, we are tumbling down a rabbit hole, it’s hard to be precise.

Once Western Civilisation is out of the way, the world will be divided into the Islamic Caliphate and the Fascist neo-Marxist union of republics devoid of any semblance of a constraining Magna Carta. All of Earth’s 195 countries will look like Iran (1979-2026) or China. The Great Caliphate, nuclear armed, covering the entire Middle East and all of Europe – it will leave the other world alone – the Fascist Empire of the Americas, Asia, and Australasia, also nuclear armed. This is a planet in which Israel has ceased to exist, and in the Fascist Empire, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, political parties that both worship Gaia and serve the elite, will contest elections fiercely like it matters.

Ten Minutes to Midnight

It’s ten minutes to midnight as I finish the last words here. A long Sunday with no pay, but well worth it.

If only Pauline Hanson, leader of One Nation, had chosen her words carefully … there are no good Islamists, only good and bad Muslims, even some great ones – like the hero of Bondi, and Ibn Rushd (Averroes, 1126-1198), who translated and reinvigorated Aristotle, the father of Western Civilisation, before St. Thomas Aquinas brought Aristotle into Christianity – the rest is history.

Our sectarian problems are not at the gates, they are inside, living beside us. A February 27, 2026, Gallup poll found that US sympathies for Israel to be dropping and Palestinian sympathies increasing. Those numbers among the leftist Democrats are frightening – only 17 per cent sympathise with Israel, while 65 per cent sympathise with Palestine.

Here in Australia, on August 3, 2025, thousands of deluded rainbow warriors marched in lockstep with tens of thousands of pro-Palestine cavalry across Sydney Harbour Bridge chanting ‘Globalise the Intifada!’ because … it’s drilled into their head that Zionism is an imperialist conqueror, that Zionists are ruthless killers, that anti-Zionism isn’t anti-Semitism (de facto, it is).

On December 13, 2025, 15 Jews were massacred at Bondi Beach, Sydney by two terrorists who were allegedly inspired by ISIS. ISIS lets its followers choose their targets.

Western Civilisation is being rapidly undermined from within. The threat is now as big as the second world war or Soviet Russia in its heyday. Declaring the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist group is a good start.

More is needed because … it is ten minutes to midnight. May a new Cold War against the neo-Marxist-Islamist alliance begin.
