Rishi Sunak is up in Scotland today, hoping to woo voters with his plan to issue hundreds of new oil and gas licences for the North Sea – but it seems the Prime Minister is not making friends with the presenters on BBC Good Morning Scotland. Sunak turned on host Gary Robertson after he asked the PM how he was travelling today.

The PM was not impressed, launching an attack on Robertson, whom he accused of wanting to ban flying:

I’ll be flying as I normally would to make the most efficient use of my time. But I think actually that question is of great debate: if you or others think the answer to climate change is getting people to ban everything they are doing and to stop people going on holiday, I think that’s absolutely the wrong approach.

Sunak went on to say: ‘Every prime minister before me has used planes to travel around the United Kingdom because it’s an efficient use of time.’

Mr S thinks that Sunak has a point but wonders whether using a plane to get around was really what every prime minister before him has done…
