Secretary of Health, Robert F. Kennedy Jnr., has called on the world’s health bodies to follow America’s lead and urgently remove mercury from all vaccines.

‘There is no excuse for inaction or holding stubbornly to the status quo,’ said Secretary Kennedy, while addressing the Minamata Convention.

‘Let’s honour and protect humanity and our children and Creation from mercury. And let’s act in the true spirit of the Minamata Convention, for the integrity of this historic treaty, and to ensure that no child, anywhere in the world, is ever exposed to this deadly neurotoxin again.’

Mercury has been used in the production of some vaccines under various names. In this form, it is a preservative dating back to a patent issued in 1927. Its addition allowed the cost-effective use of multidose vials and was considered a revolutionary medical advancement at the time.

However, there have been ongoing concerns about mercury poisoning from a wide range of products and pollution sources around the world. This triggered investigations by various health bodies over the last hundred years. Many governments have fought to have it removed from consumer products, including pharmaceuticals.

The conference Secretary Kennedy is speaking to forms part of that global initiative.

In America, calls for mercury-free vaccines began in earnest in 1999. Soon after, it was removed from most childhood vaccinations. The new Secretary of Health has led a push to remove it from the few remaining adult vaccines which still contained trace amounts (influenza vaccines).

The European Union has already removed mercury from all of its vaccines. Australia discontinued its use in vaccines circa 2000. Other nations continue to use these products, and it does not appear that the World Health Organisation has changed their view on its inclusion in vaccines.

The Minamata Convention on Mercury is described as a ‘global treaty aimed at protecting human health and the environment from the adverse effects of mercury pollution named after the Japanese city of Minamata, which suffered from severe mercury poisoning’ starting in the late 1950s. The town is now an eco-positive project and led many important reforms.

The Minamata treaty is 12 years old and has been ratified by over 50 countries, including Australia.

Secretary Kennedy used his speech at this conference to request the legacy loophole given to vaccines finally be closed in the interest of global health.

Addressing the conference remotely, he said:

‘The Minamata Convention was born from a shared moral conviction: that no human being should suffer from exposure to mercury.

‘You came together to protect future generations from this potent neurotoxin and I’m looking forward to continued progress.

‘Article 4 of the convention calls on parties to cut mercury use by phasing out listed mercury-added products. But in 2010, as the treaty took shape, negotiators made a major exception: thimerosal-containing vaccines were carved out of the regulation.

‘The same treaty that began to phase out mercury in lamps and cosmetics chose to leave it in products injected into babies, pregnant women, and the most vulnerable among us.

‘We have to ask, why? Why do we hold a double standard for mercury?

‘Why do we call it dangerous in batteries, in over-the-counter medications, and makeup, but acceptable in vaccines and dental fillings?’

He added:

‘That’s why, in July of this year, the United States closed the final chapter on the use of Thimerosal as a vaccine preservative, something that should have happened years ago. I want to be clear: it’s inexcusable that governments around the world still allow mercury-based compounds in healthcare when safe alternatives exist. Now that America has removed mercury from all vaccines, I call on every global health authority and every party to this convention to do the same.’

Most sources insist that there is no evidence that this use of mercury in the vaccine manufacturing process causes harm and cite a history of mistaken research and unverified reports that have since been debunked.

Secretary Kennedy is currently leading the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement, which has re-directed focus onto the quality of food and medicine consumed by Americans.

His department is also the first to demand answers to the Autism crisis which, so far, has left experts scratching their heads saying they have no idea why so many children are suffering, except that it is definitely not related to vaccines. Kennedy isn’t so sure, and has asked them to check properly.

Although he has attracted criticism from established bodies and the so-called expert class, ordinary Americans appear satisfied that he is doing the job they elected him for.

After all, it was the failure of global health bodies, pharmaceutical companies, and food manufacturers to provide answers that led to public frustration in the first place.
