Someone shouting “Fuck you, Jews”. Another telling the Jews they’re baby-killers. A man suggesting the Jews should “go back” to their homeland. A bloke telling Jews they’re “the most hated people in the world”. Where did this verbal mauling of Jews occur? At a neo-Nazi parade, perhaps? Actually it was at Pride in London.
Yes, the Pride parade on Saturday was scarred by what the Metropolitan Police are calling “anti-Semitic verbal abuse”. The rainbow-coloured shindig that claims to be all about “tolerance” was shockingly intolerant of Jews. Pride London will show that “love always triumphs over hate”, said London mayor Sadiq Khan. Tell that to the gay Jews who were subjected to gross outbursts of hateful invective.

They were shocking scenes. Jewish groups, having felt excluded from Pride in recent years, held their own Pride party in Soho. This infuriated attendees of mainstream Pride. One approached a Jew in a rainbow-hued Star of David T-shirt and said to him: “You kill Arab children, you kill gay children.” Then came the suggestion that the Jew should leave Britain. “Go back to your Zionist homeland”, he was told, “because it won’t last much longer”.
One woman barked the same question over and over at the Jews: “How many babies did you kill?” It’s the 21st century and the Jews of England are once more having to negotiate mobs accusing them of murdering innocents. Then came the most disturbing scene of all: a woman appeared to cry “Fuck you, Jews” as police officers just stood about.
Pride needs to account for this blurting of Blackshirt-style insults on its supposedly “inclusive” march. At the very least it needs to make clear there is no room for “anti-Semitic verbal abuse” at its gatherings. If it doesn’t, that might be interpreted as permission for Jew hate. It might be taken by some as a green light to yell abuse at these “most hated people”.
The taunting of the Jews confirms how maniacal Israelophobia has become. Bourgeois society has been consumed by a frothing and utterly disproportionate loathing for the Jewish State. To such an extent that when these people see gay Jews wearing Stars of David and expressing their love for the Jewish nation, they turn wild-eyed with rage. This is not normal behaviour. To some of us it smells like bigotry masquerading as virtue.
The ugly scenes also shattered the myth of Pride’s “inclusivity”. A good rule of thumb in our doublethink times is that when an organisation bigs itself up as “inclusive”, it’s usually anything but. Just ask gender-critical lesbians. A group of them was unceremoniously booted out of Cardiff Pride a couple of years ago because they were carrying placards saying: “Dykes not dicks.”
Imagine that: lesbians excluded from Pride for the crime of not wanting to sleep with “trans women” – ie, men. It used to be blokeish homophobes who told lesbians they just needed a good seeing-to from a fella to bring them to their senses. Now the LGBTetc lobby says the same thing: that any “dyke” who spurns a “dick” is a freak who must be excluded from righteous circles.
We need to talk about the madness of leftists who feel a greater affinity with the apocalyptic haters of the Jewish State than they do with the Jewish State itself. Indeed, there was a Queers for Palestine contingent on Pride, crammed with half-naked gays twirling around with the Palestine flag. It’s such suicidal idiocy. If these people ever set foot in Gaza, the only twirls they’d be doing would be mid-air ones after being hurled off a tall building. Their pronouns would be was/ were faster than they could say: “But I hate Israel too!”
If only they listened to the gay Jews, instead of insulting them, they might learn something. Primarily that true progressives should be lining up with the democratic Jewish State in which women and gays enjoy complete liberty, not with Hamas-ruled Gaza in which women are treated like cattle and homosexuality is savagely punished. It is a vile betrayal of the women and minorities who suffer under the boot of radical Islam that Western progressives have thrown their lot in with the tyrants wearing the boot.
And where’s Sadiq Khan? He waxed lyrical about Pride for days. He marched at the front of it. You can be sure that if there was a right-wing march in London at which people said “Fuck you, Muslims” and told Muslims to “go back” to their countries of origin, he’d be fuming all over X. So why not now? Let’s turn the heat up. It’s been over 72 hours and he has said nothing about what the Met calls “anti-Semitic verbal abuse”. How many more hours will it be?
