Colours of women, a grey-veiled pink, a bloom
Fading to yellow, stippled, dust-hung, flecked
Soot startling white lace in summer gloom.


Colours of trees, pavements sticky with leaves
Trodden to blackened bronze, a patina
Attached to every twig.
