Albanese’s UN Trump selfie. Macron made to walk…

Palestine recognition came with consequences

Oh dear! French President Emmanual Macron suffered a major humiliation when his motorcade was stopped by police in New York enroute to the United Nations headquarters.

The streets had been cordoned off for President Donald Trump.

Surely a mistake!

At least, that’s what Macron thought when he hopped out of his car and called Trump.

‘Guess what? I am waiting in the street because everything is closed for you…’

Security standing behind Macron cracked a smile when it became obvious the American President was indifferent to Macron’s predicament.

As it turns out, the disruption to Macron was not so much an accident as an accidental punishment which Trump was more than happy to allow.

Suffice to say, the US President remains displeased with the collection of nations doing their best to disrupt hostage negotiations because of domestic politics.

Macron walked for half an hour.

When the leader of the free world tells you to get out and walk, that’s what you do.

Later on, sitting beside each other in the relative safety of a presser, Trump praised his friendship with Macron, had a dig at French wine, and accused him of ‘honouring Hamas’. This was a gentle pat on the head compared to the thrashing Macron received from Jewish groups in France.

This national split was evident with the aggressive raising of Palestinian flags across 50 French municipalities after local mayors were encouraged by socialists.

French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau was not happy.

‘Only 86 town halls out of 35,000 have raised the Palestinian flag. Town halls must be symbols of national unity, not the expression of personal convictions.’

Retailleau is also the one who referred to ‘a divided French society and an atmospheric antisemitism’.

Macron tried to explain himself to the US President. Long story short, the only victory Macron departed UN with was the knowledge his footpath approach to transport had the lowest carbon footprint of his illustrious peers who were chauffeured to the door.

At least Macron is still able to call Trump. When Anthony Albanese was questioned if he had Trump’s number, he became very agitated suggesting the answer is probably no

This was only the beginning of a nauseating press conference.

Experiencing somewhat of a ‘Biden moment’, Albanese denied a quote he apparently made about Trump ‘not having a mobile’ and then insisted that if he did say what he didn’t say then what he didn’t say was ‘called a joke’.

It’s not all bad news for Albanese. He shook Trump’s hand, briefly, in what the press are calling an encounter. Their proper meeting has been rescheduled to October 20 at the White House. Our advice to Albanese? Wear a suit, mate. No one wants to be Zelenskyy 2.0.

Albanese has posted a Proof Of Life Selfie to Instagram.

And while the meeting with Trump looked more like a fangirl desperate for a snap with their TV crush, Albanese managed to stage a more professional photo with the equally side-lined Macron.

Hamas celebrated these events at the UN by executing more civilians and showing no remorse, whatsoever, for their actions.

Albanese and Macron might be congratulating each other about peace, but this is the same Albanese who, last week, closed his inner-West office after 30 years because he was besieged by pro-Palestinian protesters. He has been forced to relocate thanks to colonising activism. If the Prime Minister cannot bring peace and order to Marrickville, what makes him think he can bring peace to Palestine?

‘It basically became untenable for people. [My office] shares a carpark with the church and it became untenable for people to use their own carpark at the church. There were people being abused going to funerals. And it just does my head in that people think that a cause is advanced by that sort of behaviour.’

They probably think that, Mr Prime Minister, because you went ahead and rewarded them yesterday.

Macron eventually made it to the pulpit and used his opportunity to convincingly champion hypocrisy. He said:

‘Our duty is to remain standing and to continue acting together. Eighty years ago, those who came before us were facing collapse. The war was not over, the worst had just happened. A world, already divided, was taking shape, and they decided to build that treasure that is the United Nations. One could burden our Assembly with many reproaches, some that are not entirely fair.

‘This Assembly is us. If it is ineffective, it is because a few block it, and often the most powerful. If it does not move fast enough, it is because we are not determined enough to push it forward. The United Nations is all of us.

‘There is one thing: we are not allowed cynicism. We are not allowed fatigue. We are not allowed a spirit of defeat. Because our world is here, before us. The risk we face is that of fragmentation, of the rule of the strongest, of fait accompli, of cynicism, and in a way, of losing control.

‘Yes, that is it: the loss of control. This is what our peoples are experiencing. Fear of a future they no longer control. Fear of forced migrations in some places. Fear of a climate we can no longer keep control of. Fear of inequalities we cannot stabilise. Fear of a war we cannot stop. This fear has only one friend: the strongest, who created the conditions, the cynic who believes that a privileged few can manage to thrive in isolation.

‘We have but one responsibility: to act together. To build this effective multilateralism once again, with the same faith, the same determination, as the founding fathers of this Assembly. To do so with even greater efficiency but with the same will. To yield nothing to injustice. To yield nothing to fatalism. To act. To act. To act.’

The French President makes sanctimonious, passive-aggressive statements toward America, and yet he is the one, in this very Assembly, who yielded everything to the Islamic terrorism of Palestine and its allies. Terrorism which has taken the lives of French citizens in the most barbaric manner. Since 1970, France has suffered 82 Islamic terror attacks including those conducted by the Palestine Liberation Organisation which in 1993 was declared the richest of all terrorists. Its member organisations are far-left, comprising of socialists, Maoists, communists, Marxists, and Arab nationalists with the Palestine Liberation Front being one of these members.

Trump, meanwhile, re-asserted a demand for the hostages to be returned. He then reminded the press that October 7 was one of the most savage days.

Macron jumped in about countries recognising Palestine. ‘Nobody forgets October 7 … we experience altogether these horrific events … after almost two years of war, what is the result?’

He then followed with what should be the perfect reason not to recognise Palestine.

‘They killed the top leaders of Hamas. It works. This is a great achievement. But at the same time, you have as many Hamas fighters as you had the first day. So it does not work that you dismantle Hamas.’

In order words, Palestine is not a civilised country nor is it ready for international statehood. Clearly, it has no desire to rid itself of Hamas.

How is this any different to the Taliban using the COP conference and Net Zero to get their foot in the door on international climate aid?

As a meme re-posted by Marco Rubio said: ‘The United Nations: Founded in 1945 to end all wars. The world has been at war ever since.’
