The arrogant stupidity of the climate cult knows no bounds. This week, a pompous globalist descended on our shores and dared to lecture Australian citizens about our carbon emissions. This particular zealous bureaucrat who goes by the name of Simon Stiell is the ‘Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’. No doubt he travelled at the pointy end of a comfortable carbon emitting airplane and enjoyed the pleasures of international airline hospitality and has found time to grace the finer dining establishments Australia has to offer during his sojourn. True to form, the message he delivered, at a ‘Smart Energy’ forum, was devoid of credible science and high on doomsday hyperbole: ‘Mega-droughts (will make) fresh fruit and veg a once-a-year treat. In total, the country could face a $6.8 trillion GDP loss by 2050,’ Mr Stiell pontificated like some medieval self-flagellating preacher.
The fact that the one genuine observation we can make about increased global carbon dioxide emissions over the past few decades – true to the concept of the greenhouse effect – is that we have seen more, not less, green growth across the planet, suggesting more not less of nature’s abundance is to be looked forward to in years to come. Mr Stiell then challenged Australia about ‘how far we are prepared to go’ to pursue his net zero by 2050 Marxist agenda. The fact that his unprovable alarmism is taken seriously by not only our government but also the opposition and many of our corporate leaders, says a great deal about the fantasy bubble the Canberra elites continue to inhabit.
In reality, living standards, productivity and national prosperity will continue to plummet whilst the climate doomsday ideology continues to be taken seriously by our leaders. The tragedy is, of course, that those who pay heed to this sinister and destructive agenda already lead comfortable lives and can look forward to cushy retirements, insulated (if that’s the right word) from the horror of ever-rising electricity bills that force the poorest Australians to shiver or starve during the winter and overheat during the summer. As record numbers of small businesses collapse, and more and more people are driven into the Nosferatu-like embrace of the welfare state, and as big business greedily syphons off government climate subsidies, the future is indeed bleak – because of the Australian government’s climate policies, not the actual climate.
Indeed, it’s hard to find a graph or chart that doesn’t feature Australia bouncing along the bottom or heading sharply downwards in terms of economic prowess.
A cynic may suggest that the only reason Mr Stiell has travelled all the way to Australia is because we are one of the very few countries that still takes his United Nations Agenda 2030 stuff seriously. The big emitters like China and India pay lip service to the renewables mantra so they can dupe gullible globalists and virtue-signalling Western nations whilst opening coal-fired power stations on a weekly basis as if they were franchises of McDonalds or Krispy Kreme Donuts. In the case of China, it is admirable how hard-core communist President Xi Jinping manages to keep a straight face when dealing with Australia’s Prime Minister Albanese and his team of undergraduate socialists.
In the United States, President Donald Trump has not only overturned decades of climate policies but is busy attempting to educate the rest of the world about the climate agenda scam. Watching the likes of EU President Ursula von der Leyon or Prime Minister Keir Starmer squirming in their seats as the leader of the free world pours cold water all over their climate mantras and pagan-like belief in windmills and solar panels is a unique pleasure to be savoured by all lovers of common sense and genuine conservatives.
Sadly, things will only get worse before they get better. There’s every chance that Australia will host the Cop 31 climate gabfest next year and hard-pressed Australians can look forward to the greatest collection of international grifters, fools and hypocrites flying in to enjoy the delights of the world’s greatest junket. With any luck, seeing these frauds up close might actually bring home to naive Australians who were foolish enough to vote for the climate cult parties at the last election that we are being duped and it is time to give the traditional Aussie two-fingered salute to these international carpetbaggers and hypocrites.
In the meantime, allow us to safely reassure all our readers that there is only one possible reason why they won’t be eating fruit or vegetables more than once a year in some dystopian future, and it is because the Labor party will have so comprehensively destroyed our economy with red and green tape and chronic inflation that an apple will cost more than an average month’s wage.
