Rogue traders

Former UBS trader Tom Hayes was jailed for 14 years for rigging the Libor market. How long could you go down for financial misconduct?

7 years in the case of rogue trader Kweku Adoboli, convicted of fraud in 2012 after trading at UBS without taking out parallel hedged positions.
7 years for Alex Hope, who conned
£5.5 million out of 100 investors via an unauthorised collective investment scheme.
13 years in the case of Nicholas Levene, convicted in 2012 after running an illegal £32 million Ponzi scheme.

Blind data

Was Cilla Black any good at match-making? Four couples who met through Blind Date are known to have gone on to marry. Blind Date ran for 373 episodes, each of which put two couples together for a date — giving it a success rate of 0.5%.

— A University of Bath study in 2005 followed 229 couples who had met through online dating. Of those, 94% went on to meet up at least once more. In 12% of cases couples were still in a relationship two years later. The study did not record any as having gone on to marry.
