The Great Covid Debate

Recently, dedicated vaccine supporter Jack the Insider took on NSW Libertarian MP John Ruddick, who has opposed Covid vaccines from the start.

Their debate was held in the NSW State Parliament and is the first of its kind. How much has the vaccine debate changed since the mandates? Which side has more facts to back up its argument? How will the live audience respond?

You can watch the full video here, on ADH TV. Below is John Ruddick’s speech from the debate.

Australia’s Covid response remains an international embarrassment. We need a Covid reckoning.

It all began in January 2020 when videos from China showed pedestrians falling over amid rumours of a new virus. It was hard to assess, but reports said hundreds were dying. Soon the virus was in Italy and reliable Western media was reporting 500 deaths a day.

The world was on edge.

Then there was frantic rush on (not for tinned food or flour) – but toilet paper – hardly a critical product. The ‘Toilet Paper Wars’ were a sure sign a great madness had descended.

Wise leaders could have calmed things by pointing out that pedestrians collapsing in China was nonsense. They could have said the fatalities in Italy were almost entirely among the very old and the very sick. So it was serious, but not comparable to Ebola.

Our leaders failed us. They joined the masses and the madness. With few noble exceptions, corporate media poured jet fuel on the fire.

Covid initially was an unusually serious flu, but we over-hyped it 20-fold and embraced Hocus Pocus science to combat it.

Exhibit A: masks.

Individuals are welcome to wear a mask if it makes them feel good.

Mandating masks was absurd because masks do not stop transmission.

A FOI revealed Anthony Fauci wrote in February 2020, ‘The typical mask you buy in the drugstore is not really effective in keeping out the virus, which is small enough to pass through the material.’ The Cochrane Review found the same.

A Covid particle is one ten-thousandth the size of a mask pore. Chicken wire doesn’t stop mozzies and masks don’t stop Covid.

The Covid Jacobins, however, loved masks because it gave them something to police.

In December 2021, NSW Health declared, ‘Masks must be worn if you are flying over NSW.’ So if you were flying from Auckland to Singapore you had to wear a mask over NSW.

Social distancing was equally bizarre. Fauci has now admitted the six feet rule ‘sort of just appeared and was likely not based on scientific data’.

Black Lives Matter held a Sydney protest in June 2020, when Covid was its most dangerous, but reporters wrote that BLM public protests trumped the need to socially distance. Covid was oh so serious … except for BLM.

Those few in the Covid risk category should have voluntarily isolated. But it was pure government tyranny to enforce lockdowns.

Victoria locked down for 262 days. NSW wasn’t far behind.

Lockdowns merely delayed natural immunity and shifted cases and fatalities from 2020 to 2022.

If Ebola was on the loose, would the government would permit bottle shops to remain open? But they remained opened during Covid, and that alone told us lockdowns were nonsense.

The social and economic cost was monstrous.

Attempted suicide rates among Victorian teenagers soared by 184 per cent, according to the Kids Helpline. Hospital mental health units had six-month waiting lists. Alcohol-related deaths spiked 25 per cent, and domestic violence surged.

There was zero interest in a cost-benefit analysis. Outside of a world war, this is unprecedented.

When Treasurer Josh Frydenberg announced the initial $150 billion in spending on lockdown payments he said something to the effect of, ‘Oh it’s fine. John Howard says so.’ In the face of a hysteria, the Liberal Party discarded fiscal restraint and has bogged down the next generation with debt. Labor governments were worse. We printed billions, paid people to do nothing, and surprise surprise we are menaced today by inflation.

Big business sailed through lockdowns but so many small businesses went to the wall.

In May 2021, the New York Times reported, ‘There is not a single documented Covid infection anywhere in the world from casual outdoor interactions such as walking past someone on a street or eating at a nearby table.’

In July 2021, Nine News reported, ‘NSW Health has not recorded one single person who has caught the virus outside, proving outrage at packed beaches and parks is not backed up by science.’

People caught Covid in indoor environments but our leaders forced us to live indoors depriving us of sunshine and fresh air. Police, checkpoints, military, and helicopters monitored our movements.

In July 2021, I attended a huge but illegal freedom march. There must have been 40,000 unmasked and unvaxxed in attendance. Every expert from Gladys Berejiklian down were in a rage – certain we had unleased a super-spreader event. For two weeks at the press briefing, authorities were asked, ‘How many Covid cases from the freedom march today?’ Every day, the same sheepish answer: ‘None.’

All the nuttiness culminated in the vaccination program.

Vaccines are one of mankind’s great achievements. Edward Jenner was an English scientist who produced the first Smallpox vaccine and then Louis Pasteur, a French chemist, discovered the principle behind that vaccine could be applied elsewhere.

The scourge of Smallpox has now been eliminated from the world. Thank you vaccines.

But just because a label says something is a vaccine doesn’t make it one. A vaccine prevents infection and/or transmission. Covid vaccines fail this definition.

A good vaccine is extremely profitable. With so much money at stake (and since vaccines requires government approval) there is potential for corporate and government misbehaviour.

When we first heard of ‘warp-speed’ vaccines, I immediately said, ‘I ain’t taking it.’

I’d taken every other vaccine so why not this one?

In 1996 I worked for Ross Cameron, the Federal Member for Parramatta. Soon to knock on the door was Pfizer whose Australian HQ was nearby. They were particularly friendly. If we had a fundraiser, Pfizer would send several executives and pay top dollar.

They offered me a job and on the first day I was given an Amex and told, ‘Your job is to take politicians, regulators, and media out to breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. Pay for everything. If you get invited to fundraisers we’ll send a group. It’s all about building goodwill with our most important customer – the government.’

I said ‘Okay … but what’s our message?’

They said:

It costs a billion dollars to get a new product from concept to market.

It takes a decade to get a new product from concept to market

For every 40 concept products only one will get to market because of harmful side-effects.

So, when warp speeds vaccines arrived I listened to what Pfizer told me in 1998.

I calculated that there’s probably a 95 per cent chance the vaccine will be fine but 5 per cent it backfires. This is compared to a less than a 1 per cent chance of dying of Covid.

In November 2020, Pfizer announced the vaccine was ready with 95 per cent efficacy and no serious safety concerns. A few months later they claimed 100 per cent!

The Covid vaccines were not tweaked flu shots – most of them were a whole new class of vaccine, mRNA, that had never been brought to market before.

mRNA is a particularly potent new technology and so needs serious research. In the midst of a hysteria, we decided to conduct a global trial with a brand new type of vaccine…

First it was, ‘Take the vax and you wont catch Covid.’

Then it was, ‘Well, you need a second.’

Then it was, ‘Every six months.’

Then it was, Well, you’ll still catch Covid but you wont transmit it.’

Then it was, ‘Well, you will transmit it but you’ll stay out of hospital.’

All fake news.

Gladys Berejiklian said in September, 2021: ‘This is an epidemic of the unvaccinated.’

But data from her own Health Department was staring us in the face – there was no statistical difference between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated when it came to hospitalisations and deaths.

In August 2022, NSW Health had this disclaimer:

‘Reported deaths were classified as Covid deaths … if the person died with Covid but not necessarily because Covid was the cause of death.’

There was clearly an urge to over-hype Covid deaths. Why? People go mad in a madness.

APHRA banned doctors who did not comply with the dictates of politicians and bureaucrats. The state violated the sacred relationship between doctor and patient.

Governments declared big pharma exempt from liability regarding adverse reactions and governments said they’d pay for all citizens to take it. It was hailed as having zero downside with a government-funded enormous upside – all that lobbying paid off.

CDC director said in March 2021, ‘Vaccinated people do not carry the virus, don’t get sick.’ This was untrue.

Dr Fauci said in July 2021 said the vaccinated become dead-ends for the virus. Again, untrue.

We were told that we could not mix and match vaccine types, then we were told we could.

Premier Berejiklian said lockdowns would continue until 70 per cent were vaccinated. Then 80 per cent. Then 90 per cent. Then 95 per cent. It was an endless changing of the goalposts.

Some nations withdrew some vaccines and then some began restricting some vaccines based on age. All guesses.

Even though Covid was almost entirely only a risk for the very elderly and the very sick, they said five-year-olds had to take the vaccine to prevent grandma catching it. But in October 2022, Pfizer admitted it was never tested for stopping transmission.

The corporate media occasionally published criticism of lockdowns but not the sacred vaccine. Many were getting paid by the government which made them propagandists, not journalists.

The average age of a Covid death in Australia was 86 for women and 81 for men – identical to life expectancy rates. What a pandemic!

A FOI by Senator Alex Antic revealed over 4,000 Australian social media posts were identified by the government as misinformation and reported to social media companies for banning. So much for the idea that governments must never censor speech. Most of those posts have proven accurate.

Scott Morrison purchased 250 million vaccines which amounts to 10 for every Aussie. Only 5 per cent of Aussies took the 6th vaccine, so most have now been thrown out and left to rot, but big pharma still got paid $18 billion.

Opposition Leader Albanese repeatedly said we’d have a Covid Royal Commission, but he’s backed down. Labor premiers don’t want the scrutiny.

The Nuremberg Code has 10 points about humans and medical experiments. Top of the list: ‘Voluntary Consent is essential.’

The Australian Immunisation Charter also expressly forbids coercion in any form.

These codes were put in place to provide sanity in a time of hysteria, but we ignored them.

Australia has a 98 per cent double vaccination rate because of defacto compulsion, but recently the Queensland Supreme Court found that some vaccine employment mandates were a breach of human rights. Yet many thousands of Australians still now in 2024 cannot return to their chosen profession because the mandates are still being enforced on firefighters, police, paramedics, nurses, doctors, miners, defence personnel, and university students.

Surely the dumbest of all was the insistence those who had recovered from Covid still had to get vaccinated. Every virologist knows there is no better inoculation than having recovered from the virus naturally. But no, Covid was so serious you had to keep vaccinating anyway. The vaccine had become a golden calf.

Weak little Omicron arrived in late 2002. It quickly proved to be an excellent natural vaccine – a weaker version of Covid, easier to recover from and voila: natural immunity.

Former John Hopkins University Professor of Medicine, Marty Makary, wrote in the Wall Street Journal:

Public-health officials ruined many lives by insisting that workers with natural immunity to Covid be fired if they weren’t fully vaccinated. But after two years of accruing data, the superiority of natural immunity over vaccinated immunity is clear. By firing staff with natural immunity, employers got rid of those least likely to infect others. It’s time to reinstate those employees with an apology. CDC data demonstrates natural immunity was 2.8 times as effective in preventing hospitalisation and 3.3 to 4.7 times as effective in preventing Covid infection compared with vaccination.

Public health officials … talk about the vaccinated and the unvaccinated. If we want to be scientific, we should talk about the immune and the non-immune.

Jack the Insider has argued ‘the vaccine did work but then Covid mutated into omicron – we got lucky’. Flu-like viruses are well known for mutating on an endless and rapid basis. The good thing is once a bad strain hits its mutations soon get weaker – so it wasn’t luck, it was expected. We rushed out a vaccine in seven months for an inherently unstable virus and soon after it got to market the virus had changed.

Dr Nick Coatsworth said in January 2022, ‘The fatality ratio of omicron is likely to be less than influenza and not a particularly bad flu at that.’

Even Bill Gates in February 2022 admitted, ‘Sadly omicron is a better vaccine than my vaccines.’

Regardless the madness rolled on – Premier Perrottet declared his government’s objective was to ‘crush omicron’.

The vaccine didn’t live up to its marketing, but did it do more harm? There has been a 10-20 per cent increase in overall fatalities since the vaccination rollout. What is causing this?

In my view, it is either harm from lockdowns or harm from warp speed vaccines.

What makes me suspicious it is related to the vaccine is governments are hell-bent on not investigating. The same governments who told us ‘every life matters’ now ignore a sustained increase in death.

Recently The Hill newspaper in the US wrote:

Life insurers have been consistently sounding the alarm over unexpected or, “excess” deaths, which claimed 158,000 more Americans in the first nine months of 2023 than in the same period in 2019. With the worst of Covid behind us, annual deaths for all causes should be back to pre-pandemic levels — or even lower because of the loss of so many sick and infirm. Instead, the death toll remains “alarming”, “disturbing”, and deserving of “urgent attention” according to insurance industry articles.

Actuarial reports show deaths occurring disproportionately among young working-age people. Nonetheless, the CDC has archived its excess deaths webpage stating, “These datasets will no longer be updated.”

As of today the TGA’s Vaccine Adverse Events Database has recorded just over 140,000 adverse reactions to Covid vaccines. I have several mates who had concerning heart reactions in the week or two after the Covid vaccine, but none reported it to the database.

Reported injuries is always a fraction of the true number but 140,067 is a terrible baseline.

The hysteria was so acute several public figures ended up in hospital and said, ‘I’m Covid vaccine injured but its extremely rare. Keep taking em!’

Pfizer conducted trials on their vaccine but didn’t want that data released for 80 years.

Vaccine is the world’s most respected publication on vaccines – they recently reported a huge study concluding there was a 36 per cent higher chance of a ‘serious adverse event’ from taking the vaccines than placebos’.

The Surgeon General of Florida has recommended against Covid vaccines for young men and children citing the risk of heart damage. The Centre for Disease Control claimed this was inaccurate. A journalist made an FOI request to see the data and received a 148-page report … every page redacted.

The worst part of Covid was the alarming apathy of most. The big government central-planners will weaponise that apathy and find other ways to lord over you.

Covid was the entrée and global warming is the main meal. There is an acute correlation between those who most fell for Covid alarmism and those who have most fallen for global warming alarmism.

I want to salute the brave few who resisted the madness. Many did at great cost. Many are still suffering the consequences of lost jobs and broken families. But you have already demonstrated your courage under fire and even though you’ve given so much, you’ve proven to be the wisest among us and so we need you to keep fighting.
