Flat White

Now, everyone’s a biologist!

And just like that, bodily autonomy and women were back!

With news leaking that the US Supreme Court was set to overturn Roe v. Wade, abortion activists were suddenly shrieking about ‘my body, my choice’ and ‘a woman’s right to choose’.

Weird. I didn’t think anyone knew what a woman was.

Now, everyone’s a biologist!

And the same people who just five minutes ago were insisting the State needed to mandate Covid vaccines are now insisting the State has no right to tell people what to do with their bodies.

Cognitive dissonance, thy name is Leftist. And the Left’s complete lack of logical consistency is never more evident than when it comes to defending their favourite sacrament, abortion.

My use of the term sacrament is not poetic licence. Democrat politician John Fetterman actually said yesterday: ‘Let’s be clear, the right to an abortion is sacred.’

Hallelujah! The Democrats, who spend most of their time raging against the influence of the church, have suddenly found religion. Though it’s less of a ‘come to Jesus’ moment so much as a come to Molech. Or is it Baal? But I digress.

The Left have converted abortion from ‘safe, legal, and rare’ to ‘sacred’. Praise Kermit Gosnell.

Meanwhile, Amnesty International tweet-chanted as if in a kind of religious trance:

Abortion is a human right

Abortion is a human right

Abortion is a human right

Abortion is a human right

Abortion is a human right

Abortion is a human right

Abortion is a human right

Abortion is a human right

Abortion is a human right

Abortion is a human right

If abortion is a human right, what do the folk at Amnesty International think an unborn baby is? A tomato?

You’d think a human rights organisation would understand that all humans are human, whether embryonic, foetal, infantile, young, mature, old or dying.

But there they were, arguing that some humans should have the right to destroy other humans in the name of human rights.

Like I said, internal consistency is not a feature of the Left.

Former Democrat congresswoman Katie Hill tweeted:

Hard to believe that girls being born today will have fewer rights than those born fifty years ago.’

It would be interesting to hear Ms Hill elaborate on what value she believes rights are for girls who do not have the right to be born in the first place.

Meanwhile, a mob of pro-abortion protestors gathered outside the Supreme Court building chanting, ‘If we don’t get it (abortion rights) tear it (the Supreme Court) down.’

Is this what the Left means by ‘insurrection’?

No. ‘Insurrection’ was a bunch of Republicans taking selfies in the Capitol Building on January 6.

A tantrum-throwing mob threatening to tear down the Supreme Court on May 3 because they might lose the right to destroy babies in the womb? That’s not insurrection, that’s democracy!

The left chop and change so much that it can be hard to keep up. But do try.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi warned that, ‘The Supreme Court is poised to inflect the greatest restriction of rights in the past fifty years – not just on women but on all Americans.’

I doubt Nancy Pelosi feels greatly conflicted about owning rosary beads – beads blessed by the Holy Father Pope Francis himself – when pro-abortionists shout, ‘Get your rosaries off my ovaries!’ She never seems to allow her Catholicism to interfere with her real religion, an important skill if you are to be a successful leftist.

CNN anchor and chief national affairs analyst Kasie Hunt tweeted

‘Important to remember: Overturning Roe v. Wade will impact Americans with the fewest resources, not the wealthy or well-connected.’

The Left are always thinking about the oppressed and the vulnerable. And Hunt is right that overturning Roe v. Wade will impact America’s most vulnerable. Unborn babies will get to live!

Oh wait. Hunt wasn’t thinking about unborn babies at all.

Someone else not thinking was British politician Brian Paddick, currently sitting in the House of Lords as a life peer, who reflex tweeted:

Wake up time! Those wanting to reverse women’s right to abortion are the same people who promote and support anti-trans views, who are against every kind of diversity whether ethnic, religious, sexual or gender.’

One cannot help but be amazed at how ‘pregnant people’ become ‘women’ when the trans lobby needs to engage in a bit of we’ll scratch your back if you scratch ours.

But you have to admire a man who can argue straight-faced that only women have the right to an opinion on abortion and that men can become women any time they like, just by thinking it.

The Left rarely make sense. That’s why they hurl insults. It’s easier.

Anyway, as the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh pointed out, Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973 by seven white men and overturned in 2022 by a group that includes a woman and a black man. So the Supreme Court decision is a major win for diversity!

Lord Raddick should be thrilled. And if that’s not enough good news, trans women’s access to abortion will remain unchanged!

Of course, some Leftists, like Wisconsin Democrat Francesta Kong, do try against all odds to remain consistent. She tweeted:

Birthing bodies have the right to freedom. Deciding if or when to become a parent is one of the most personal, life-changing decisions. Access to abortion & reproductive care is a decision we must trust each person to make based on what’s best for their health & their future.’

So women’s rights are being taken away by people who dehumanise women according to a person who calls women ‘birthing bodies’. Right.

Ms Kong did not explain how she would describe a ‘birthing body’ if the birthing body decided to have an abortion. In such a case they would obviously not be birthing anything. So what adjective would she use then?

Livestock?

Of course not. It’s grotesque. But Ms Kong, of all people, should know how dangerous it is to dehumanise women. After all, the abortion lobby have spent the past fifty years dehumanising unborn babies and look at what happens to them.
